Regulates Qi, adjusts the Middle and relieves the diaphragm；
Dries Dampness and transforms Phlegm；
Helps prevent Stagnation from tonic herbs；
Spleen/Stomach Qi Stagnation with epigastric or abdominal distention, fullness, bloating, belching, nausea and vomiting；
Phlegm-Damp Obstructs the Lung with coughing, a stifling sensation in the chest and/or diaphragm and copious, viscous sputum；
Turbid Damp Obstructs the Middle with a stifling sensation in the chest, abdominal distention, anorexia, fatigue, loose stools and a thick, greasy tongue coat；
Tonic herbs causing Stagnation；
Contraindicated for those with a dry cough due to Yin or Qi Deficiency.
Contraindicated for those with Stomach Fire causing nausea and vomiting.
Do not use with herbs that are warm, hot, aromatic or drying.
Use caution for those with Heat from Excess (when the tongue is red).
Use caution for those with Hot Phlegm, Dry Heat coughs, or spitting of Blood.
Use caution for those with Fluid Deficiency.
Long-term use can injure Yuan Qi.
Contraindicated for those with spasmodic abdominal pain.
Contraindicated for those with no Damp-Phlegm symptoms.
